Notice Period/Turnaround Time
The IRB has meetings scheduled approximately every week throughout the year, with receipt of the documents desired 3 - 5 working days before the meeting to allow sufficient time for distribution to the IRB members. Meetings are usually held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, with a response generally within (3-5 working days). Average turnaround time from date of the meeting to final approval is 1 - 3 weeks, and can be more or less, depending on Applicant’s response time to reply to the IRB’s review. Special ad hoc meetings may also be organized on request (additional cost applies). Ad hoc meetings can usually be organized with as little as 3 to 5 working days notice. Chairman's Expedited Review provisions exist for certain types of research involving minimal risk to subjects, as per TPD/FDA regulations/guidelines.
